Taliban officials in Kabul alleged that Pakistan was repeatedly shelling and carrying out airstrikes across the border, justifying the attacks on Afghanistan as military operations against the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants. Pakistan has previously accused Afghanistan’s Taliban rulers of providing a haven to the TTP militants, who were tormenting the Pakistan Army with targeted attacks. Kabul has vehemently denied the accusations from Islamabad.
